We have finished the owl so now we are just going to put it back in it's box that it came in and send it back to put it somewhere around Auckland City. We will be going on a hunt next year to try find owls around Auckland City, Hopefully we find our owl first!

It was around 12:50 when my friend David came up to me & said that we had to go to Mrs Eadie  to do some art & I was surprised to hear that a teacher wants me to use my artistic skills to paint a owl for her. This owl was given to us to paint & draw on to support cancer society. I was confused at first but as days past I was getting the hang of it. We put 2 coats of each paint forest green, navy blue & red but now we are getting ready to put our art & design over the paint with pencil then paint it with the colours that we got.

Today we folded a long strip of paper into 1/2 then we got given a equivalent question like how does 1/2 = 2/4 = 4/8. Then we folded the paper in half again and it made 1/4 & we folded it again in half and got 1/8 

Launch your success

Andrew Peterson arrived to our school this morning and talked to us about our future. He made google slides to show what he had come up with about our future. He showed us a formula to success (A+I=M) the A means aspiration the I means Inspiration the M means motivation. These are the key's to success & that is the formula that he told us. He also told us that there was year 7 that gave up his lunch money for a homeless man for 2 weeks & later on those 2 weeks the homeless man grew to become stronger & have more will on him to have a life again

Mr Wiseman taught us how to make our own music on garage band. Garageband is a app from imac os. Mr wiseman taught us how to keep in time with the beat & how to get started if your new to garageband.

We learnt how to create a beat from scratch & showed us some examples that he did. He told us to record the beat that we did so that it is saved & put into our animations that we make.

The D.L.O for this term is creating music to suit our emotions

that we traced by taking photos on PhotoBooth. Photobooth is also

Mr Jacobson's act was very historical because he brought some ancient horns that were invented in the stone age. The very first horn he blew was a conch shell horn. They invented this horn because sometimes you don't need to shout across the river or ocean you just need to blow the conch shell.

The second horn was made by antelope horn. He talked about how you can make this so the first & only step was to chop off a bit of the horn making a little hole at the end & that's the bit that you blow in too. The reason they invented this kinda thing was as same as the conch shell so they did'int have to yell over the desert sand dunes. 

The third horn was the army bugle made to call in solders for meetings or another urgent things that soldiers did or needed to do.

They crafted this unique horn from a piece of pipe then bent into a paperclip shape.

My Final Immersion Assembly At Pt England School

This morning was the very last Immersion Assembly for the year 8's at Pt England School. The first item was team 1 playing snap with cards & listening to music while playing. They listened to dramatic violin instrumental music & made that emotional face that goes with the music. They expressed all the emotions for each song they did. 

The next item was from team 2. They sang a song that's famous from Disney called (Into The Jungle) they came in 1 by 1 sitting on chairs with` there own instrument singing Into The Jungle 

the first person with an instrument that walked on the stage was Mrs Gaston.

Team 5 was the last team to preform. They did a act about a family sitting down for family movie night. The movie they watched was lion king with different songs expressing the emotions of the movie.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Every year we have an event called Manaiakalani film festival that schools from around Tamaki Makaurau attend once a term. Manaiakalani is a organisation for the students around Auckland, New Zealand. Manaiakalani is also known as a foundation because they help school's get new learning tools for there students such as Ipads, Chrome books /Acer c720, Acer c720E & much more. Sometimes when we make films for Manaiakalani we have trouble filming them because most of our actors laugh when they fail during filming. Sometimes when we film it's really hard to stay focused because they have so much pressure and attention on the person who is acting. Manaikalani is held in Sylvia Park, New Zealand, Auckland

On 24th of July we had our immersion assembly. Our teacher's at Pt England school did there team act for what they are doing for the term like learning about space and NASA. In the begging there a drone pretending to be a alien space ship and then 

Mrs Jacobson & Mrs somerville were being Jedi's protectors of space. They defeated the aliens that were Mrs Burt & Mrs Nua

team 1 had cars flying into space from school and then returning back to where they were. Other teams are learning about the same thing and then we got told the theme for this term.

Update On Our Basket Ball Court

Today 22nd of June 2017 we got into our inquiry class and did some more work on our projects that we did the past last Fridays. We have improved  on our Basket Ball court gym and we have really made it better by adding some new things to it. me and my group have been working on it so hard and we have got so far and we are almost finished with the first plan. I have been making some 3D models
so show what it will look like when we are finish and what its supposed to look like.
We only have 2 weeks left of doing this so hope we finish in time

On Monday the 1st of May was the first day of school for term 2 of 2017. Today at immersion assembly our team are learning about how we could make the school and our block better by building stuff that could help us keep the school clean and tidy. 

In the holidays I went to a friends for a week because the only time i get to see him is on the holidays because he lives out west Auckland in Kelston. When i was there we went to the movies and watched Fate of the furious and it was fun then after the movies we went out side and it was dark and then we decided to go to Olympic park and play some basket basket ball with some other boys then we climbed on the spider web that was there and then we went back home when his mum called and that was my holiday and first day of school.

Pt England school

Pt England school is one of the best schools in G.I East Auckland and I will tell you why? Pt England is most popular for the Chromebooks because we have so many kids that come to our school and say that they want a Chromebook to learn on and plus Chromebooks are way easier to learn on and it is also faster . Pt England School is also known as one of the best rugby, Soccer/Football, Touch and Tag. Our sports teams train to be the best and try hard to get to where they want to be in the future. We also train to be the BEST sports team in  the whole of the Manaiakalani Cluster of schools.

Pt England School has loads of facilities  and class rooms.

And our school has hired people to make a bike track for all of us so we can all have fun together on the bike track and also have loads of fun on the play grounds too. We are known to have one of the best animations in the Manaiakalani Cluster We have over a hundred kids that come to our school and we have primary and intermediate at our school so that when we were in primary we did not have to leave and try to find another school to go to because it might take a month or two to find another school to go to. Instead we made a primary and intermediate so that our parents don’t have to go through more paperwork to get us into another school.

We have Prefects and ambassadors for our school. Our prefects help others to not do bad stuff and to tell them to do the right stuff like how this morning they did a koreo for our assembly and the mono was RESPECT and they told us what the word respect means in their way. Pt England School has camps like Year five and six camp, Year eight camp which is Leadership camp. Our school has fundraisers to pay of some of the money like year eight camp we have to pay one hundred and twenty for our camp but the real cost is three hundred and fifty dollars  that is why we have a fundraiser to get more money in to help the school pay more but we still have to pay our one hundred and twenty dollars to pay a little and the school pays the rest of the money.

That is why Pt England School is one of the most popular

                            Schools in East Auckland NZ.

ASB Poly Fest 2017

We went to polyfest because we were learning about myths and legends and some cultures at Polyfest still tell myths and legends In their act. But some just go to dance and show that their culture is important.

Poly fest was the first trip this year for year 7 and 8 and it was a blast because we got to go see other stages 1 by 1 and see what they were telling us in their dance they did. And we also went to visit Little stands and other things.

At one of the stands there was a piece of paper that they gave us and we had a little group with us and another school with us. On the piece of paper they gave us had love and faith and we had to write some stuff down that meant those things in it.

Then we went to another stand and we had to do a dance battle with other people and schools and one of our school mates had to go to the other side and try to help them because there were little kids on the other side and at the end of the dance battle everybody that danced got a prize but then they told us to do the pukana and we did and we also got a prize which was slap on bands and digital fans for your phone.

Then at the end of the amazing and great day we had went to buy donuts and play little games in the sand box and ate lunch and waited for the bus then arrived back at our lovely ground of Pt England School.

And also to encourage people to not take cars to work but take bikes because the cars are making our water get polluted because when you drive a car it may leak OIL and GAS and when the oil or gas leaks from the cars and then when it rains the water pushes the oil or gas into the drains than the drains take it to the creek than the creek takes it to the beach than the beach takes it out to the ocean than it is very possible that when sea life go to eat there prey it may swallow  some gas or oil than it may die or get sick. Also to put bins every where because there are some seas birds that think that the rubbish is food than they swallow it and die if they eat heaps.Up to 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals and sea turtles die from eating plastic.
