NZ Native Animal Report

Kiwis are New Zealand native bird and it is also an icon of the flag and other stuff.

Diet: The kiwi eats earthworms, snails, cockroaches, larvas, beetles, caterpillars, crickets, wetas, centipedes, frogs, spiders and also chrysalis.

Habitat: Kiwis make their habitats in the ground just like the tuatara. It makes a little burrow but it's just like a bear's den. Then they gather feathers for its nest to make it nice and warm.

Characteristics: Some kiwis are really gentle but if you get on its nerves then it will probably get aggressive. sometimes it can be nice and calm.

Description: A kiwi has two legs, a long beak and it is colored gray and whitish. A kiwi has a relative that is called the emu but they look the same but one of them is really big.

Other Interesting Fact: Kiwis can weigh up to 3.3 kg. Kiwis

have their nose on the end of their beaks. Kiwis are nocturnal that mens that they come out at night and sleep in the day.

In class we read a book about a bird that was greedy and bossey and then these other birds
came and asked tui if they could live in there house but he did not let them live there.

The Blind Fold Game

Have you ever played a blind fold game before? If you haven't then you should have a go.

Today our class had a go at playing the blindfold game. First we sat in a circle and waited for our teacher to give us the instructions. She said that you had to put on a blindfold and  wait for a container.

When she finished giving us the instructions, we got to pick a plastic color ball to put inside the container, but it wasn't easy. Our teacher spread out the colored balls so we had to get the balls that we picked and get all of them into the bucket.

When the game started we raced up to the balls and tried  to get all the colors. When I went to get the blue balls, I felt something hit my head and it felt like a ball. Then I just carried on getting the blue balls and it was fun.

If we got to play that game again it would be really cool. Did you know that there was more blindfold games and it was fun today.

We are learning how to write recounts which are easy to read and interesting for our readers.

Trade And Enterprise

This term team 4 is learning about trade and enterprise.We have trading groups that sell products  like toys, food, music, homeware and label making. I'm in the toy group. My trade group is called gunners. We make crossbows mini gunners and guns. We made 13 PT in our group and we managed to add it to our bank and I made 19 pts.

We reload it and put a pencil there to finish the work.

Grass to Glass - the last 4 steps

When the milk comes out of the warm pipes it goes through a cooler then the milk is cooled. The milkman comes to take the milk, he attaches a pipe that takes out all the milk. The milk gets measured and that tells the farmer how much money he gets.

The milk that comes out of the cow has lots of cream and if you do not want cream it goes to the separator to get the, milk and cream  separated and it makes all types of milk the green milk has no cream the blue on has some cream.

Once it goes through the separator it has a bit of germs then boiled up to 72 celcius to get the,bacteria  killed by pasteurising the milk.When it is finished pasteurising it is good to drink.

When the milk is finished plastering they put it in bottles for you to drink.
